The Raccoon City Police Department is an integral part of the Resident Evil storyline and even the gameplay. Most of the major characters have roots in the department (Chris, Jill, Rebecca, Leon, Wesker, etc.) and a huge chunk of Resident Evil 2 takes place in and around the police department building itself (you also visit the department in Resident Evil 3 and in Outbreak).

Perhaps the most important aspect of the RPD is that it included the now famous S.T.A.R.S. team. Started by Wesker and with its remaining members now video game legends, they were certainly a fascinating group.

The RPD has appeared in or been referenced to in nearly every form of media related to Resident Evil. It has become a huge part of Resident Evil lore and as much a character as the T-Virus or Umbrella. If you like the RPD in any form, please join the fanlisting!
