Locke Cole is a prominent character in the video game Final Fantasy VI, which was released in the U.S. originally as Final Fantasy III for the SNES. Years later, it was re-released under it's true title for the Playstation as part of the Final Fantasy anthology set.

Locke's character class would be considered "Thief", although he shuns this label in the game in favor of "Treasure Hunter". He has a higher speed stat than the other characters and has the ability to steal from enemies. And one of his best aspects is that he can equip some really great weapons that let him do nice damage from the back row. Locke is required to get many of the best items in the game, and is perhaps the hardest character to acquire in the World of Ruin (Phoenix Cave was a nightmare for me).

As for personality, Locke is very adventurous and fun-loving. He's a humorous character, but he takes his mission very seriously, always ready for a challenge. Locke never backs down from anyone or anything, and is a constant source of inspiration and cheer to the other characters as well as the player. At times you feel that you can accomplish anything with Locke around.

He is perhaps best known for his attitude toward women. Locke is extremely kind, helpful, and generous to every female he comes into contact with (making it easy to assume he's a player XD). But it's important to note that Locke is rather sincere about this behavior, and truly does care about the women he meets.

I've yet to meet a female who has played FFVI and didn't like Locke. As I've said in the past, it's very hard NOT to like him. He's just that sort of character. For me, he is my absolute favorite male video game character of all time. For more on why I love him (and possibly why others love him), check the Extra section for some essays.
